Internal Regulations

INTERNAL REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO TRAINEES

AND USERS OF THE PARIS LANGUAGE INSTITUTE

 

Article 1 : These rules apply to all trainees, for the duration of the course. In accordance with article L6352-4 of the French Labour Code, these internal regulations set out :

1° The main health and safety measures applicable in the establishment ;

 

2° The rules applicable to discipline, in particular the nature and scale of penalties applicable to trainees and their rights in the event of a penalty being imposed; 3° The procedures for ensuring trainee representation for training courses lasting more than five hundred hours in total. (if applicable: cf.)

 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Article 2: Preventing the risk of accidents and illness is imperative and requires everyone to comply fully with all applicable health and safety regulations. To this end, the general and specific safety instructions in force in the organisation, where they exist, must be strictly complied with, failing which disciplinary action will be taken. When training is provided on the customer's premises, the health and safety rules of the customer's internal regulations apply; the provisions relating to discipline and representation of trainees in these internal regulations remain valid and must be brought to the attention of the trainees.

 

GENERAL DISCIPLINE

 

Article 3:

- Trainees undertake to respect course schedules and to be punctual.

- Late arrivals and absences must be reported and justified (for state schemes) to the administrative team.

- In the event of repeated and unjustified absences, the contract will be terminated by the management (for state schemes).

- Smoking is prohibited on the premises in accordance with current legislation. It is forbidden to eat or drink in the classrooms:

- Mobile phones must be switched off during lessons.

- Correct dress is required.

- Any damage to equipment, teaching aids or premises will be reimbursed to the student.

- The PLI does not provide personal work materials (pens, paper, etc.).

- The PLI accepts no responsibility in the event of theft or loss of personal items - All users are expected to behave respectfully and courteously towards other trainees and all PLI staff.

Article 4: Any behaviour considered to be misconduct by the Director of the training organisation or his representative may, depending on its nature and seriousness, be subject to one or other of the following sanctions in order of importance:

- Written warning from the Director of the training organisation or his representative;

- Reprimand

- Permanent exclusion from the course.

DISCIPLINARY GUARANTEES

 

Article 5: No penalty may be imposed on a trainee without the latter being informed at the same time and in writing of the complaints made against him/her.

 

Article 6: When the director of the training organisation or his representative is considering imposing a penalty, he shall summon the trainee by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt or by delivery to the person concerned in return for a receipt, indicating the purpose of the summons, the date, time and place of the interview, unless the penalty envisaged is a warning or a penalty of the same nature which has no immediate impact on the trainee's presence for the remainder of the course.

 

Article 7: During the interview, the trainee may be assisted by a person of his/her choice, whether a trainee or an employee of the organisation. The invitation referred to in the previous article shall mention this option. During the interview, the trainee will be told the reason for the proposed sanction and will be given the opportunity to explain it.

 

Article 8: Penalties may not be imposed less than one clear day nor more than fifteen days after the interview or, where applicable, after the Disciplinary Committee has issued its opinion. The trainee shall be notified of the penalty in writing, stating the reasons, by recorded delivery or registered letter.

Article 9: When an act considered to be wrongful has made it essential to take the precautionary measure of temporary exclusion with immediate effect, no definitive sanction relating to this act may be taken without the trainee having first been informed of the grievances against him/her and, if applicable, having been summoned to an interview and given the opportunity to be heard by the Disciplinary Committee.
